Tea Time Friends

I've been on a coffee and tea stamp binge. Today, I finally got to use one of my tea stamps. I ordered the Tea for Two stamp set from There She Goes. This card was made using the Sweet Sunday sketch.

I've seen some wonderful cards made by intricate paper piecing. I've been a bit intimidated to try it myself. Today, I felt the need to give it a try. Cutting out the middle of the teapot and cup handles was not fun. I think I did an okay job, but I'm hoping it will get easier the more I practice. I really like the end result! The Delicate Dots paper I used coordinated well with the tea scheme. I love how the Certainly Celery colors remind me of green tea. I think I'll be doing this paper piecing this again!

Raspberry Tart Birthday Card

Raspberry Tart is my favorite Stampin' Up designer paper. They have some other wonderful DP, but the colors of the Raspberry Tart paper line are so vibrant and fun. This card was made using this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

But I Need It!

I ordered my first set of Hannah Stamps and I love them! The "But I Need It" set is perfect for the double pocket bag. I thought about my sister, Dan-Dan, while I was making this card set. Her birthday isn't until September, but it would be perfect for giving her a gift card in. The image is large so I kept the layout simple. The image speaks for itself. I think I may do some paper piecing on the shopping bags next time. I added a little bling to the flowers.

I made a matching card to go into one of the pockets. I used one of my new stamps from Shirley's 2 Girls. This one is called "Good Thing".

The designer paper and embellishments are ones I've had just hiding in my closet. I used my Prisma markers to color the images. Thanks for stopping by.

Trendy Trees

I finally got around to using my new Trendy Trees stamp set from Stampin' Up! I love how versatile this stamp set is. I made this card for the recent SFYTT challenge.

I really like the color combination. This is what I love about Stampin' Up. Everything coordinates. It's hard to go wrong when you use their papers and coordinating ink. This is going to be one of my favorite stamp sets.

Cake Baker Card

I made this card for the TE Cupcake Challenge. I just received a bunch of new stamps that I ordered from Shirley's 2 Girls. Her Ladies with Attitudes stamps are so much fun! This one is the Cake Baker. I wanted to make something fun and colorful. I may have gone overboard with the color, but I had fun making it.

Coffee Double Pocket

I found a new challenge blog called Project Tuesday. Their first challenge is to make a double pocket bag. I bought a bunch of new stamp sets that have to do with coffee and I've been wanting to make something with them. I thought the double bag would be perfect as a coffee-theme because I like to give Starbucks gift cards as presents. I tried to make it masculine, which is something I don't do very well. I need to work on that! I kept the design simple. Yes, I know the brad is a heart. I just couldn't keep from adding something a little girly.

The coffee cup is from the Let's Get Together set by There She Goes. The sentiments are from the Celebrate Everything set from Stampin' Up! The paper and embellishements are from SEI. Enjoy!

Birthday Princess Card

Today's card was made using this sketch from i{heart}2stamp: Here's what I made with it. I added stickles and bling to emphasize the sentiment. Besides, I love sparkly things!

Aren't her shoes cute!

My daughter found the Princess stamp at Michael's a few months ago. It's from Hampton Arts. The sentiment is from Studio G. I used the Fairest of Them All paper from Imaginisce. I cut out the princess and the ovals with my nesties. I didn't have any blue paper with dots on it so I used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder to add the raised dots on the blue border.

Classy and Fabulous

Here's this week's sketch from one of my favorite challenge blogs, Mojo Monday. I discovered the Classy and Fabulous stamp set in the Stampin' Up! catalog and ordered it. I received it this week and, boy, am I having fun with it!

The paper is from SEI's Keepsakes collection. I thought the color combination was very classy and fabulous. I especially love the sentiment! I did have a hard time deciding on what colors to use on the images. I had to stamp and color them three times before I finally decided on these colors. I think I might buy some of those foamy glues for the poodle to make it look fluffy. Hope you like it!

Blogoversary Candy

Sorry, I wasn't able to complete any projects today, although I do have a couple in the works. I did get a chance to do some blog surfing and I came across Debbie's blog. She is giving away some great candy to celebrate her one year blog anniversary. The items she's giving away are great! I'd be happy just to win the Copic markers. I've been dying to try them. Well, back to life...back to reality... I'll post a card tomorrow.

Umbrella Card

I recently discovered Diva Coffee Break Designs. Their blog has different challenges going on. The one catch is that all the supplies you use for your design have to be from Stampin' Up! and they have to be current. This is great for me because I joined a monthly card swap that has the same requirements. This week's challenge was a sketch. Here's what I came up with: I made the umbrella by cutting a 2-1/2" circle with my circle cutter. Then I cut off 1/3 of the circle and used my scallop punch. I added the small band of pink to the umbrella just to give it a little more character.

Did you notice the handle? If I had a Stampin' Up! alphabet set, I would have used the letter "J". Since I didn't, I had to improvise. I used the horizontal slot punch and the word window punch to make it. It turned out better than I hoped it would. Here's a list of the materials I used.

Princess Card

I was too late to submit a card for the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #63. I had something in mind, but couldn't find the time to sit down and put it together. I knew that I wanted to use the Fairest of Them All paper line from Imaginisce. I also planned on using my Princess Anya stamp from the Greeting Farm. I got the papers cut and had gathered the other elements of the card. The problem was my stamped image. Whenever I tried to color in my princess image, it would smear. I finally figured out that using Staz-On ink and heating it before I started coloring helped keep the image from smearing. Unfortunately, I was in such a hurry, I didn't use the right colors for my image. Anyway, I ended up scrapping my stamped image and using a chipboard princess images from Imaginisce instead.

The princesses really are cute. They come in various hair colors and different dresses and hair accessories. I still plan on making a card with my Princess Anya stamp. I just have to practice on my coloring a little more.

Hey Cupcake! Card

Well, I was finally able to create a card for the Taylored Expressions challenge on time! I've printed out the last two card sketches, but I've been so busy I didn't have a chance to actually complete a card. Today, I was determined to get one done. You can check out the sketch for TE Cupcake Challenge #64 here. The paper is from Target. The stamped images are from Inkadinkado and Studio G (gotta love those $1 stamps!)

I added dimensional glue to the cherries on both cupcakes to match the red skittles. I probably could have done more with this card, but I didn't want it to get too busy. This would be a fun birthday card for a little boy or girl. Thanks for stopping by!

Fairy Princess Birthday Card

I can't believe it but I was able to do another sketch challenge. I did a Mojo Monday sketch again. You can view this week's challenge by clicking here. I've been wanting to make something really girly, like a princess card. So that's what I did.

I'm not sure if you can see the glitter glue on the wings and stars.

I also added dimensional glue to the mushroom to give it some texture. The paper is from Imaginisce's Fairest of Them All line. The stamps are all from the new Studio G series from Michael's. I used my Bic markers to color the images. The borders were punched using the dotted scallop punch from EK Success. The small scallop circle punch is also from EK Success.

I think it turned out very girly and cute.

My First SFYTT Challenge

Sorry for the long absence. It's been a very busy few days. Plus, I just couldn't ignore my laundry any longer...no matter how hard I tried! Today, I decided to tackle another challenge. I used the sketch from i{heart}2stamp. I knew that I wanted to use my new Pocket Sillouette stamp set and use pink and black for colors. Here's what I came up with. The papers are called Sabrina from Making Memories. The stamps are Pocket Silhouette and Flowers in Silhouette, both from Stampin' Up! I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture to the black paper. Here's a close-up of the sentiment. I first stamped it with Pretty in Pink and then stamped over it with black.The border around the sentiment is from a stamp set for inchies made by Hero Arts. I added dots around the scallop square with my glitter pen. The sides looked a little bare to me so I added bling to the corners. Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday #81 Contest

After admiring everybody else's work and wondering how they came up with such creative cards to a sketch, I decided that it was time for me to step away from my laptop and do one myself. I used the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday contest. I love the sketches they design. This one looked like it would be fun to try.Here's what I made.

I subscribe to S.E.I.'s monthly kit program. I love their kits and their papers! This month's kit used the Mimosa collection. The bright colors of this collection really popped! My card was made using the Mimosa collection papers and one of the ribbons. The castle and frog stamps are from the Fairest of Them All set by Imaginisce. The sentiment is from the Best Yet set by Stampin' Up! I used Certainly Celery, Pixie Pink, and Pumkin Pie markers from Stampin' Up! Finally, I added skittles on the bottom and stickles around the scallop circle. Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Favor Box

What do you think about this favor box? I wanted to experiment with my Box #2 die from Stampin' Up! I'm thinking of giving this to my sister or as one of the prizes for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. The papers are Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Delicate Dots from Stampin' Up. I first adhered the patterned paper to the box and then I cut out the window with my new SU! Scallop Oval punch. I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of transparency with black Staz-On ink and taped it inside the box. The sentiment is from the Oval All set from Stampin' Up. I punched out the leaves using the Martha Stewart Frond punch and used my embossing stylus to outline the veins of the leaf (I know it's hard to see). I glued the leaves and the Prima flowers and then added some half pearls to the centers. You can also add handles to make it look like a purse. I filled my box with candy robin eggs. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try any of the eggs because these are my husband's favorite candy and he swiped them from me as soon as I lay them on the table! Oh well, at least he liked my box.

Twinchies

I know that Valentine's Day is over but I didn't get a chance to make anything yesterday so I'm going to share these instead.

I had a ton of paper scraps left over from making Valentine's Day treats for my kids. I try to use my scraps when I can since it's better for the environment. I tried making "inchies" (the 1" cards that are all the rage), but my eye sight just isn't the same. Instead, I made these 2" cards. My daughter started calling them "twinchies".

Faux Quilt Card

One of my favorite Stampin' Up! products is the Top Note Die. When I saw this card on Dawn's site (her designs are awesome!) I knew I had to give it a try. I made my card just like hers, but added a couple of things like the ribbon and extra layering around the Top Note shape. Here's a list of the materials I used. They are all from Stampin' Up!

Baskets for Easter

Aren't these baskets cute! I first saw them here and just had to make some. I thought they were clever and unique. I made these for my nieces and nephew. I filled them with a few wrapped nuggets and I'm planning on putting a gift card to Jamba Juice or Coldstone in each one.

The patterned paper is from a Super Slab by Provo Craft. The images in the circle are from the Animal Crackers stamp set from Stampin' Up! I used the Bunny Nuggets and You're So Sweet stamp sets from Clear Dollar Stamps to decorate Avery labels, which I used to cover the nuggets. Notice the puff ball at the end of the bunny nugget.

I've seen a lot of techniques and tricks from some very talented people, but seldom do I try them myself.
